Cimatron Mold

Moldmaking is one of those trades where a single missed detail on the parting line or a poorly placed ejector can cost days of rework. Cimatron Mold was built around that reality. It brings design and manufacturing into one CAD/CAM environment, so a moldmaker can move from an incoming customer file to a finished, machined mold without constantly switching software or re-translating geometry.

Pelf Engineering brings Cimatron Mold to Indian toolrooms and manufacturers who need a dependable, end-to-end system for mold design — one that holds up on multi-cavity molds, family molds, and geometry that doesn’t always arrive in clean, stitched form.

What Makes It Useful

Handles messy data without complaint

Customer CAD files rarely arrive perfect. Cimatron’s hybrid modelling tools work with surfaces, solids, and even poor-quality or non-stitched geometry, so designers spend less time fixing files and more time designing.

Speeds up parting and cavity work

Undercut checks, surface verification, and automated core/cavity generation take a process that used to eat up a design cycle and compress it significantly, which matters most when a quote deadline is looming.

Keeps mold components connected

Plates, sliders, lifters, cooling lines, runners, and catalog parts stay associative to the original design intent, so when a change comes in and it always does, it doesn’t mean starting over.

Machines what it designs

Because the CAM side lives in the same system, roughing, finishing, drilling, and even electrode programming can begin without exporting geometry to a separate application.

Core Capabilities

Mold layout and base design

Load entire mold base catalogs in minutes, work with non-standard bases through a dynamic template, and adjust component dimensions at any stage.

Core, cavity, and slider generation

Automated tools speed up the design of primary mold components while keeping them tied to the original parting work.

Cooling and runner systems

Design conventional or conformal cooling channels (useful for additively manufactured inserts), sketch runners in 2D and convert them to 3D, and get automatic interference checks between waterlines and other components.

CNC programming built in

2.5 to 5-axis machining strategies, toolpath simulation, gouge and collision checking, and a large library of post-processors mean the mold gets machined in the same environment it was designed in.

Electrode and micro-milling support

Dedicated tools cover EDM electrode creation and precision micro-machining for fine mold details.

Change management

Engineering change orders (ECOs) can be tracked and applied without losing the history of what was modified and why.

Why Work With Pelf Engineering

As your Cimatron partner, Pelf Engineering doesn’t just hand over a license — we help toolrooms set up the workflow, train design and CAM teams, and stay available for support once the software is in daily use. If mold complexity, tight lead times, or inconsistent incoming data are slowing your shop down, Cimatron Mold is worth a proper demo.
